Chase Hooker was diagnosed with ALL leukemia on December 27th, 2014 at just 4 years old. Sine January of 2015, Chase and his family have been in and out of the hospital and have used the Ronald McDonald House at Vidant Medical Center countless times. The Hooker family says that the best part of using this facility is having a place to do laundry and take a shower while you are far from home.
Chase always came into our facility with a smile on his face and loved spending some time in our playroom. Just getting out of his room and having a little “me” time gave him a fun getaway for a little while!
Dad says, “It has made our long stays in the hospital easier. Just having a free resource to use has impacted our family financially. We would have spent a lot of money on food and visits to the laundromat, that’s for sure!”
Chase’s cancer is in remission and he is in the maintenance stage of chemo. His overall health is good and he is a happy little boy!
