Home is a place where you and your family enjoy spending time together, where you feel safe, where you know you’ll have people that care about you around. That’s the feeling The Ronald McDonald House of Eastern North Carolina and at Vidant Medical Center provides families when they stay. Families need that feeling of home during the most trying of times, like when a child becomes sick or injured and they’re not able to be at their own home. They might have to venture far from home for treatment or for extended hospital stays, which puts added stress on a family both emotionally and financially. The Ronald McDonald House keeps these families together at no charge and provides them with a hot meal, a warm shower and a comfortable place to lay their head. Because when times are tough, that feeling of home is what a family needs to make it through.
Generosity in its Purest Form.
No company can solely fund all the programs that go to support the Ronald McDonald House. Although McDonald’s is one of our founding supporters, additional support came from numerous civic clubs, individuals and corporations around the state. The $1.2 million Greenville Ronald McDonald House was sponsored by the Raleigh Region McDonald’s Operator’s Association, Citizens of Pitt County, the Kate B. Reynolds Health Care Trust Fund, BB&T, The Brody Foundation, Ronald McDonald Children’s Charities, and the Ashley Quinn Trust Fund.
Over 80% of the House’s funding still depends on the continued generosity of individuals and businesses in the area. The affiliation with the Ronald McDonald House Charities and McDonald’s continues to contribute about 20% of the operation costs. Every dollar raised keeps the Greenville Ronald McDonald House running.
